Vacancy: General Manager: Town Planning

Remuneration and Benefits: Minimum (N$1 003 660.00 

Market related salary package, Medical Aid, Pension Fund, Housing Allowance/Subsidy, Car allowance, 35 m3 free water per month and 20 statutory annual leave days & 15 gratuity bonus leave days leave per annum. 

Main purpose of the job: To strategically plan, monitor and direct the Swakopmund Municipality (SM) Town Planning Department to promote future and current spatial development of Swakopmund as an Authorised Planning Authority by facilitating, guiding and implementing the development needs of the town to ensure sustainable urban growth, supply of erven and a quality urban environment for all residents, and execute the day-to-day departmental control and operational activities. Enhance staff capacity and competencies, exercise and administer the powers afforded by the Minister to the Swakopmund „Authorised Planning Authority”, liaise and coordinate planning activities with government institutions and private sector organisations. Lead the integration of sustainable and innovative spatial planning solutions that support the municipality’s goals for smart urban development.
